Designated as the General Administrator of the Aquatic Resources Authority of Panama (ARAP), Zuleika Pinzón graduated in Fisheries Engineering at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco in Brazil in 2016. She also obtained a Masters in Science at the University of Florida, US, and graduated in Governability and Political Management at the University of Panama and the University of Georgetown.

She previously held the position of Director of National Coastal Areas and Oceans, a new Department within the Ministry of Environment, where she also worked as National Director for Protected Areas and Wildlife. Pinzón is also experienced in NGO management (Fundación PROMAR, Fundación MarViva y Fundación NATURA – with the latter being responsible for fund management for conservation and sustainable development).
