Dr. Jorge Arango Arias, now Panamanian Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries Development, aged 71, a specialist in orthodontics graduated from the University of Oregon, USA.
Mr. Arango, partner of the dental clinic Arango Orillac, is a well-known player in the agricultural sector due to the fact that he owns Compañía Agrícola Industrial, S.A. (Caisa), the first pig-farming company in Panama, which has been operating for more than 60 years within the domestic market.
His company, in association with Italco, Colombian firm that trades imported and domestic specialty foods from all over the world, is the largest producer of concentrated pet food. The firm offers products for the livestock industry, as well as for poultry, pork, horses, pets and aquaculture industries.
